Quaint but great Ambleside accommodation!
We are pleased to offer guests use of the large classic lounge with piano, comfy chairs, fire and TV for your use.
A dining room with an interesting plaster ceiling (and some formica top tables on which to dine , with old school room chairs to sit on), a drying room for that odd damp day when you need somwhere to air your jacket and boots, a computer for internet access (free) Wifi too! (also free). We also have a laundry with washer & dryer, iron and ironing board.
But the gem of the ground floor for most people is the large well equipped commercial style kitchen so you can cook your own food if you wish! with fridges, pots 'n' pans, dishes, large range cooker and hobbs, large grill, microwave, woks, knives etc you can cook up a gormet meal or beans on toast -whichever takes your fancy.Tea and coffee is available whenever the kitchen is open (free too!). In the morning the self serve light breakfast is laid out in the kitchen -free for guests - bread for toast, preserves, cereals and tea and coffee.
To compliment the above we have a smokers area outside in the front car park (the only place you can smoke on hostel grounds!!!), a picnic bench, - and you may secure your mountain/road bikes (if you have one) in the glazed verandah. Motor cycles may use the hostel car park - cars can not!- except staff!!
